The Story

Santa Monica Airport had archaic, malfunctioning lights in the majority of their parking lots which needed to be replaced to ensure the safety of commuters. Greenshine’s Vice President of Sales, Heidi Emmert, met with the folks from the City of Santa Monica for a site walk and noticed the existing foundations were in great condition and could be re-used for the new replacement solar lights. With the city’s permission, Greenshine subsequently sent a representative on site to take some exact measurements of the existing bolt pattern with a caliper. Then, the company manufactured new, Type III Bighta40 solar parking lot lights, which were installed on the existing foundations. This customization allowed the City of Santa Monica to save tens of thousands of dollars by avoiding the need to dig up and replace the existing concrete pedestals. The Brighta40 Type III LED distribution provided excellent coverage over all of the lots without the need for a new layout and expensive new pedestals. The City of Santa Monica is quite pleased with the results and we look forward to working with them on future solar lighting projects.
